How to do a sit-up

CoreBodyweightBeginner

A full curl all the way up to sitting. More range than a crunch and a bit more work through the hips — take it at your own pace.

How to do it

  1. 1Knees bent, feet flat and anchored if you need it
  2. 2Curl up smoothly, rounding through your spine
  3. 3Reach toward your knees
  4. 4Lower back down with control

Common mistakes

  • ×Throwing your arms to fling yourself up
  • ×Jerking your neck forward
  • ×Dropping back down instead of lowering slowly
