How to do a forearm plank

CoreBodyweightBeginner

The plank is the most honest core exercise there is — hold still, brace hard, and let your whole midsection do the work. No reps to count, just you and the clock.

How to do it

  1. 1Elbows under your shoulders, forearms flat on the floor
  2. 2Squeeze your glutes and brace your belly like you're about to be nudged
  3. 3Keep a straight line from head to heels — no sagging, no piking
  4. 4Breathe slowly the whole way through

Common mistakes

  • ×Hips drifting up into an upside-down V
  • ×Lower back sagging toward the floor
  • ×Holding your breath and rushing to finish
